Overview
Good Measure is a fictional planning tool for teams of five to twenty people. Rather than tracking every task, it asks a simpler question each Monday: what is a realistic amount of work for this week, and who is carrying too much?
We designed the product from first sketches to a complete interface for desktop and mobile, including the brand identity, design system and onboarding.
Challenge
Productivity tools tend to reward busyness. Dashboards fill with red badges, streaks and charts that make every week look like a crisis. Good Measure needed to feel calm and honest without becoming vague.
The tool also had to be quick. If planning a week takes longer than ten minutes, teams abandon it. Every screen had to earn its place in that short routine.
Creative approach
- 01
A week you can see at once
The core view is a single weekly board showing each person's planned load as a simple bar against their available time. No scrolling, no tabs: the whole week fits on one screen so a team can discuss it together.
- 02
Calm data, plain words
Instead of percentages and alerts, the interface uses plain statements like 'Two people are over capacity on Thursday'. Colour is used sparingly, with the acid green reserved for the moment a week looks balanced.
- 03
A small, strict design system
We built a compact component library with a limited type scale, one grid and clear states for every control. It keeps future features consistent and makes accessibility a default rather than an afterthought.
